Well, we have an exciting opportunity just for you! Introducing the “Traveling Tessa Art Contest! We invite all Project CREATE ex-interns, graduates and other young artists to unleash their creativity. Join us in bringing to life a captivating character and the extraordinary world she inhabits.

Meet Tessa the Traveling Tiger, the spirited and endearing character from an upcoming children’s book series. With her insatiable curiosity and a heart full of wanderlust, Tessa takes young readers on journeys through the airport, to exciting destinations. The possibilities are endless, artists! Unleash your imagination and create Tessa’s world through your eyes. Choose to create vibrant landscapes and awe-inspiring destinations that Tessa encounters on her New Orleans trip.

Each of Tessa’s captivating adventures is designed to make the world of travel familiar and exciting to young readers. Through her tales, Tessa the Traveling Tiger teaches kids the beauty of embracing new cultures, making new friends, and the importance of being patient and learning agility.

All applicants must understand this is an employment opportunity. The winner will receive a $500 retainer to complete the rest of the illustrations for the book. Upon completion, winner will be paid the remaining $500. That’s $1000 and the opportunity to be a published artist!! But, it doesn’t end there. Depending on the artist’s abilities, the winner will be tasked to illustrate an additional six books in the coming year.

Here’s how you can be a part of this fantastic journey:

  1. Fill out the form below to receive a Non-disclosure Agreement. Once signed by you (and your parent if you’re under 18), you’ll be provided the manuscript for the New Orleans book. This will help define Tessa further and allow for you to choose a desired scene to illustrate.
  2. Create Tessa the Traveling Tiger: Design and draw the lovable character, Tessa, in all her adventurous glory. Craft her world (the background scene) a separate piece of artwork. Illustrate a sample scene of her magical voyage to the city of New Orleans. Let your creativity roar!
  3. Preferred Medium: Use any artistic medium you like, from traditional paints to cutting-edge computer graphics. The dimensions must be 17″ wide and 11″ tall at 300dpi. You’ll be provided contact information to help you with setup. This is a children’s book, so the illustrations much be colorful, captivating and take text placement into consideration.
  4. Submit Your Entry: Send in your masterpiece to hello@perxuade.com no later than October 31st, 2023. The winner will be notified November 1st. Upon being selected, you will have two months (December 31st, 2023 at midnight) to complete the cover and the rest of the pages.
  5. REMEMBER: before you apply, this is an opportunity for employment. Do not embark on this journey if you do not see yourself able to commit to illustrating a 12 to 16 page book by December 31st, 2023.
